REVIEW: CARRIE.

So I watched the film version of Stephen King's Carrie yesterday and well it was amazing. I've been wanted to watch it for about a month and a half now but no one would go and see it in the cinema with me because apparently it looked '''too scary'', wtf? Anyway I finally persuaded my friends to watch it with me yesterday and I definitely proved them wrong.

PLOT-SPOILER ALERT:

The film is about a girl called Carrie White who according to her deeply religious Mother was ''born out of sin'' and should have been ''killed at birth'', she's not the sanest of people.

After a gym class in school Carrie gets her first period but completely freaks out because she thinks she's dying, clearly her mum didnt have the 'birds and the bees talk' with her. Instead of the girls in her class helping her they start chanting and throwing tampons at her until the teacher comes in and stops them all. She starts screaming and its at this point where Carrie realises that if she concentrates hard enough she can make things move.

One of the girls tormenting Carrie makes a video of her freaking out and decides to put it online so everyone can see. All the girls get in to trouble and if they refuse to face the consequences get suspended and therefore cant go to prom. All of the girls accept their punishment except Chris, who is the girl that posted the video, she refuses to do the detention and gets suspended from school.

One of the girls,Sue, who was tormenting Carrie starts to feel guilty and to make up for it she gives up her chance to go to prom by getting her boyfriend Tommy to ask Carrie instead so she can have one beautiful night just like every girl deserves. At first Carrie assumes this is another horrible prank and refuses to go with him but Sue makes him ask again and she finally agrees to go. Exited to go to her first prom Carrie starts to make her own dress.

Carrie's mother, Margret, refuses to let Carrie go to the prom and insists that everybody there is going to laugh at her again because she is different. Carrie gets frustrated and uses her power to lift her mother up in the air, and then lock her in the cupboard because her mum thinks she has power from the devil. Tommy knocks on the door and she turns up the radio to stop him from hearing her mother screaming from inside the cupboard and then uses her powers to solder the lock shut so she cant get out.

Once at the prom everything seems to be going well, but while Carrie is dancing with Tommy, Chris and her boyfriend are planning revenge. They fill a bucket with pigs blood and hang it above the stage where the prom king and queen will later stand. The vote for prom king and queen start and Carrie doesnt want her name to be on the ballot, Tommy tells her she is beautiful and eventually encourages her to vote for themselves. The couple win prom King and Queen and make their way on stage.

At this point, Chris texts Sue that Carrie looks beautiful but then adds that she wont for long. Knowing that Chris is up to something Sue gets in her car and rushes to the prom. Once there she see's Chris above the stage and she see's the bucket. Sue quickly realises what Chris has planned and tries to stop it but gets thrown out of the prom before she can do anything about it. Chris then pulls the rope and the bucket tips over, throwing blood all over Carrie and partly over Tommy.

As Chris and her boyfriend rush off the bucket falls and hits Tommy, killing him. An all ready upset Carrie then loses it and uses her power to cause destruction in the school. She locks the doors and throws everyone to the far side of the room, the whole place starts to go up in flames and she throws people out of the way as she leaves, killing alot of the people she walks past. On the way home Chris and her boyfriend are driving towards Carrie, Chris urges her boyfriend to run her over with the car, he drives forward but just before they hit Carrie she stops the car and the front end of it crushes in killing Chris' boyfriend, next she picks up the car and throws it over towards a garage causing Chris' face to go through the glass in the front windscreen and if that wasnt enough she makes a lampost fall on top of the garage causing the whole place and the car to explode.

Carrie rushes to her house in search of her mother, her mother starts to tell Carrie about her apparently 'sinful' conception but Carrie doesent want to listen. The mother and daughter hug but Margret still believes that Carrie should have been killed at birth and stabs her in the back, litterally. Furious, Carrie throws her mother against the wall and pins her up with sharp objects like scissors, all of a sudden various sharp objects start flying towards her mother stabbing her all over. Realising what she has done Carrie tries to take the knives and scissors out of her mothers body and unpins her from the wall. Sue then walks in as Carrie is cradling her dead mother, Sue tries to help Carrie and hold out her hand but she holds her up with her powers, Carrie senses something inside Sue and tells her that her baby is going to be a girl. A shocked Sue gets thrown out of the house to safety and the house collapses in on itself and Carrie dies.
