TUTORIAL: SMOKEY EYES.

I've decided to do a tutorial, I don't know why, this can only go wrong.
I wanted to wear smokey eye make up to  a New Years Eve party earlier this month but I'd never done it before and I wasn't very good. I tried doing it for like 3 days but it just looked like I was trying to dress like a panda.. What really helped me was YouTube tutorial videos but the thing with tutorials is that they're made by people who are a lot better at doing their make up then I am. They're either to complicated for me to even fathom how to do or they just look to extravagant to wear if your only going for a Starbucks, which I am, all of the time. ....
So in the end I decided I'd do the most plain and simple, easy to understand tutorial you could possibly make. These smokey eyes take about 10 minutes when you get used to doing them, it can take longer at first but it gets quicker as you go along and they are perfect either just going out with the girls or even a simple look if you're going to a party, enjoy!!

Step 1) A lot of people use a primer before putting on any eye make up but frankly,Aint nobody got time fo that! I just put my foundation on and then add eye make up on top...
After doing my foundation I put a thin layer of white, or your lightest eye shadow on, making sure you really apply it to the inner corner. This will give the impression that you have wide eyes and is great in the morning If you look really tired, which I always do!
White base coat.

Step 2) After you apply the white shadow, next use a layer of brown, If you dont like brown eye shadow then the next best colour is grey. To get a good smokey eye/cat eye effect put the brown shadow in the crease of your eye, dont cover the whole crease, start from the outside and stop when you get to above the pupil. You can blend the white and brown as much as you like or if you want really sharp cat eyes add more brown to the crease and work your way up towards the eyebrow until your happy with the result.

Step 3) To make a statement use black eye shadow to line the eyes going from the out side of the eye to just above the pupil. You might not want to line the bottom of your eye but I think it makes my eyes stand out.

Apply brown to the crease of
your eyelid.

After applying Brown shadow.
Step 4) The black eye shadow does a really good gob of highlighting your eyes and is great if your going out with the girls but if you're going to a party its great to use eyeliner on top of that. Firstly, use pencil eyeliner to do the bottom of the eye, again if you dont want to line the bottom of your eye then just leave this part out. Then use a liquid eyeliner to line the eyelid, if your just going for a Starbucks then I would use a thin line from above the pupil outwards and stop at the corner of the eye,but if your dressing to impress then I'd use a thick line and flicks.

Step 5) Finally to complete your simple smokey eyes look, MASCARA!
I normally use two mascaras but obviously you can use as many as you like. There's not really much I can say about mascara as its so easy to apply and when it comes to mascara you're going to know which one suits you best.
